Morning Maca-Spiced Pumpkin Mylk
This ‘Morning Maca-Spiced Pumpkin Mylk’ is your ticket to all things cozy, warm and ENERGIZING, thanks to the help of (organic) ‘Gelatinized Yellow Maca Powder’ from Canada’s Miski Organics!
Maca root is native to the Andes Mountains of stunning Peru – a natural ‘adaptogen’, meaning designed to help our body combat stress. Maca also helps increase your energy and stamina – yes, please!
I love this brand of maca because it’s ‘gelatinized’ – it’s been heated at a low temp for a few seconds, which separates the starches it contains.
The starches are therefore easier to digest, and the nutritional value/vitamins/minerals it contains still remain INTACT. WIN!
As an ambassador and team member at Vista Magazine, I love gaining the opportunity to partner with new brands on my radar, so as to get into my kitchen and craft something new! This was no exception!
Here's the recipe!
*Please do your due diligence to research whether this ‘superfood' adaptogen is suitable for your personal health needs, prior to using it.
MORNING MACA-SPICED PUMPKIN MYLK
Yield: 1¾ cups
Prep Time: 5-10 min
1 cup organic, full-fat coconut milk
½ cup filtered water
¼ cup organic pumpkin puree
1 tsp. (alcohol-free) vanilla extract
A few pinches (Ceylon) cinnamon
A few pinches nutmeg
A few pinches ground ginger
1. Combine the coconut milk, water and pumpkin puree in a small pot on the stove (at medium heat) and whisk the ingredients together as they warm. Bring to a ‘hot’ drinking temperature, without bubbling or boiling.
2. Pour into a heat-safe, high-powered blender with a *VENTED* lid (so heat can safely escape) and add the remaining ingredients to the blender container.
3. Blend until smooth, pour into your fave mug, and enjoy!
*To enjoy chilled, let cool in a heat-safe jar until room temperature is reached, then seal and let chill in the fridge. When ready to consume, give the jar a good shake and pour over a few ice cubes.
