Pumpkin Hemp Sunflower Smoothie

'Tis the season for pumpkin anything and everything, including this Pumpkin Hemp Sunflower Smoothie, inspired and adapted from "One Green Planet"! Possessing welcoming flavours of the season of Fall now upon us, including pure pumpkin and nutmeg, this not-too-sweet and pleasing smoothie is just what the season ordered!

Without further adieu, the recipe!


  • 1.5 cups almond milk, or other nut/seed milk of your choice! (I had just previously made my own almond milk - so yummy!)

  • 1/2 cup pure pumpkin

  • 1 heaping tbsp. sunflower seed butter, or other nut/seed butter of your choice

  • 2 tbsp. hemp seeds

  • 1 heaping tbsp. vanilla protein powder (I used Genuine Health's Fermented Vegan Proteins+)

  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (I used "Ceylon" cinnamon)

  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg (or grate whole nutmeg, for added freshness!)

  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger


Combine all ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend. Enjoy!

*Garnish, as desired! I chose to garnish my smoothie with added hemp seeds and some raw sunflower seeds, as well!
